Our mission is to cultivate the capacity of individuals with autism, social emotional behavior and related challenges through high-quality behavior analytic technology. We offer a variety of services including early intensive behavioral intervention, group instruction and training and workshops for parents, schools and other caregivers.
Who We Are
Orchard Learning & Behavior Services is a therapy center that provides Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) services to children with autism and developmental delays with a focus on increasing skill development and decreasing problem behavior.
We teach social, functional and independent skills and help bridge these competencies to home, school and community settings.
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis is based on the science of learning and behavior with the understanding that a person is shaped by what he/she experiences in the environment.
ABA is considered an evidence-based best practice treatment by the US Surgeon General and American Psychological Association. ABA has been proven to encourage positive behavior change and greater independence for a wide variety of learners through the use of positive reinforcement.
We work closely with parents, educators and caregivers to ensure everyone is involved in each step of the instructional process. As children meet their goals, services are faded and caregivers are provided with support to maintain behavior changes and ensure a successful transition into a local educational agency.
Behavior is a form of communication. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts assess problem behaviors to determine what they are communicating, or the underlying "why." After assessment, we develop specific, function-based plans that teach appropriate behaviors to get that "why" met in a socially-appropriate manner. Each plan contains research-based, best-practice interventions tailored to the unique needs of the child and their situation.
We conduct a variety of skills assessments (VB-MAPP, PEAK, AFLS, etc.) for curricular purposes to determine which skills we will work with your child to increase.
Each treatment plan is custom-made for each child, and may include the following teaching modalities:
• Discrete Trial Training (DTT)
• Natural Environment Training (NET)
• Pivotal Response Training (PRT)
No skill is truly mastered until it can be performed across a variety of settings, with a variety of people. We target skills in group settings so children can learn how to respond and interact within a group.
Each child will work to develop valuable social and emotional skills with their peers. Children will learn to interact successfully in social, leisure and group settings. All group classes are supervised by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts.

The number of children diagnosed with autism has been steadily increasing, with a prevalence of 1 in 54 nationally.
The need for effective early intervention services is critical for children diagnosed with autism in order to positively move the needle on future outcomes. Orchard provides these intensive early intervention services to cultivate each child’s capacity.
